A good day for the Lib Dem’s

It might seem hard to believe but today was a good day for the Lib Dems. It wasn’t supposed to be but Nick Clegg should be giving thanks to the significant number of idiotic NUS protesters, clearly none of whom were geography students, as they decided to take their protest to CCHQ instead of Cowley Street. The resulting mindless acts of vandalism and death-defying stupidity destroyed whatever public sympathy tuition fee campaigners had – throwing a fire extinguisher from 10 stories up into a crowd of police officers is never a good PR stunt.

The story has firmly moved from a Lib Dem u-turn on tuition fees to the storming and attempted arson attack on Millbank. To top it off Nick Clegg did a remarkably good job of what was probably the most difficult parliamentary session of his career and he came across well in tonight’s bulletins.

As they say, a day is a short time in politics.
